Description
EDUCATION FUNDING. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. Amends Constitution to add the provision that from all state revenues there shall first be provided a minimum level of support for public education in grades kindergarten through twelve in an amount equal to that available from state and local tax sources to these public school systems for the 1979-80 school year adjusted for enrollment and the consumer price index. Fiscal impact on local or state governments: State costs would increase approximately $470 million in 1981-82 and $700 million in 1982-83.
