Description
LEGALIZED GAMBLING. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. Amends Constitution to allow gambling, lotteries and games of chance in a specified area in California, a strip of land on the west side of Interstate Highway 5 in a portion of Fresno and Merced Counties. The Legislature is given the power to regulate and tax gambling activities in this area. All state revenues derived therefrom are allocated equally between the cost of public education and reimbursement of local governments for the cost of constructing monorail rapid transit systems.
