Description
Requires school districts and county offices of education that employ persons who are required by law to report child abuse to train all employees and such training shall include the procedure for identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect. Summary of estimate by Legislative Analyst and Director of Finance of fiscal impact on state and local government: Cost to Schools. Potential one-time costs ranging from less than $1 million to $45 million and potential ongoing costs ranging from less than $1 million to $4 million. Child Welfare and Foster Care Costs. Potential increased costs ranging from about $0.3 million to nearly $3 million for the state and ranging from about $0.2 million to about $2 million for counties.
