CLASS SIZE REDUCTION IN GRADES 9 THROUGH 12. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Amends the Education Code to expand the Program to Reduce Class Size in Two Courses in Grade 9 ("Program") to a program to reduce class size in grades 9 through 12. Allows school districts that maintain any of grades 9 through 12 to apply to the Superintendent of Public Instruction for an apportionment to implement the Program. Summary of estimate by Legislative Analyst and Director of Finance of fiscal impact on state and local governments: Measure would result in annual state costs of hundreds of millions of dollars that would increase over time. State and local school districts could incur potential costs of hundreds of millions of dollars in total over next several years to provide additional facilities.
