UC Law Business Journal

Submissions

UCLBJ carefully considers manuscripts written by members of the legal community on any subject related to business law. Manuscripts should be submitted through Scholastica. We no longer accept submissions by e-mail or postal service. In addition to full-length articles, UCLBJ also welcomes shorter works—such as formal or informal essays and comments—for publication. Submissions for online publishing will also be considered for the next print issue at the discretion of the articles editor(s).

Article Guidelines

  • Format: All submissions should be in Word document form, double-spaced (except footnotes) 12-point font (10-point for footnotes). Submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter and curriculum vitae, and be conformed to the latest version of The Bluebook.
  • Expedited Review: In the event an author is presented with a deadline from another publication, please request expedited review of your submission with our team via Scholastica. We will make every effort to accommodate the request. Expedited review, however, provides your piece with no competitive advantage in our process.

Responsive Pieces

You can view past issues on the UCLBJ Repository. Responses to past issues should be submitted through Scholastica.

  • Length: Responsive pieces must follow the Article Guidelines above, but should not exceed 3,000 words (including in-text citations). If you wish to submit a longer manuscript, please contact the UCLBJ team at and specify the work you are responding to.
  • Format: Refer to Article Guidelines.
